CP Gallery After Hours - Sound Bathing by Candlelight with De Sonos

Join us at the CP Gallery for a unique 'after hours' experience on Thursday, November 16th at 7pm - 8:30pm.

You do not need to know how to meditate to appreciate the health benefits of a sound bath. Your only task is to get comfortable and then immerse yourself in this remarkable experience. Natalie Armitage, owner of De Sonos is our very skilled facilitator for the evening.

What is a sound bath?

Sound bath therapy is a unique and beautifully meditative practice that dates back to over 40,000 years and varies by culture. The sound bath is an experience that connects vibration through the airwaves to your body at a cellular level, providing mental, emotional and physical balance while inviting healing at multiple levels. Sound bathing has been proven to be helpful in managing both stress and anxiety by using gentle vibrations to relax the body, mind and spirit.

The acoustics of the Carleton Place Gallery are perfect for a deep and penetrating sound bath experience, so bring your comfortable chair, yoga mat or blanket and immerse yourself in the benefits of this beautiful meditative modality.

How does it work?

Our gallery walls are moveable and we'll open the space up to accommodate up to 25 people. The lights will be turned off and the gallery will be lit by candlelight for the duration of the experience. We encourage all to immerse yourself completely in the sound bath experience to gain as much benefit as you can. Afterwards we will enjoy a gentle cup of cedar tea and Natalie will facilitate a group discussion about our experience. Some people will feel very relaxed while others will feel charged with energy - each person's experience, much like the vibrations that make up our physical being, is unique to the individual.
