1 day photo clinic at CP Studio, 208 Bridge St.

Cost: $110 + HST per student
NOTE: This is not a drop-in clinic. You must register to participate.
This program is developed around the idea that participants will bring in their own camera. You can bring your SLR camera, but this program is also possible to teach on a point and shoot camera.
*5 Cameras are available first-come, first-served for a fee of 50$ a day
People are asked to dress in layers appropriate for both indoor and outdoor settings.
WHAT TO EXPECT!
Session Outline
Hour 1: Camera 101

Attendees will be briefed on what makes a good photo. In this lesson I will be explaining the following rules: Rule of thirds, balance/symmetry, colour/black and white, natural framing, lines, angles/view point, cropping, depth.

How to select a focus point during the lesson.

Other functions will include how to use: Priority modes (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Program mode) Portrait, Marco, Sports, Landscape, etc.
Hour 2: Get out there and shoot

Workshop attendees will practice their shooting skills in a 1 hour walk.

2 Options: we can go down Bridge street with emphasis on “street photography and portraiture” or we can do “nature photography” and walk through down the Ottawa Valley Trail and back.
Hour 3 : Good Photography Practices

Review of Camera 101 and Basic functions take up questions.

Camera cleaning tips and good practises with uploading photos, exporting memory cards, charging batteries, taking off and putting on lenses.
