Violeta is a well known instructor throughout the Ottawa area and has been teaching for many years. In addition to her incredible mixed media painting, she has been a jeweler and metalsmith, selling her work at the Ottawa Art Gallery Annexe.

She will take you through the unique process of creating a beautiful 5mm hammered sterling silver ring using silversmithing tools and a torch.

Silver is considered one of the noble metals because of its excellent resistance to oxidation. Hammered rings are a beautiful form of art and were even used as currency in ancient times. At certain times in history, silver was even more valuable than gold.

A hammered band is a wonderful gift for someone, or it will make a powerful art statement piece for you to wear with pride. However you choose to use your creation, this is a fascinating class that will bring you a day of learning and enjoyment.
